Box Score 2 GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Royals softball program travelled down interstate 85 today to participate in the first day of the Mid-South Tournament. The Royals picked up a big win against Alderson Broaddus by the score 10-9, but dropped game two against Columbus State 10-3.
The Royals started off slow in the first game, but were able to pick it up in the later innings. It wasn't until the bottom of the seventh with two outs until they were able to finally pull ahead with a
Micaela Hayes walk off hit.
Robyn Levine helped lead the offense going 3-4, and was joined
Emma Schultz picked up three hits of her own and two RBI's.
Lyndey McCurry picked up the win in the circle for the Royals.
The Royals faced a red hot Columbus State in the second game, and despite a solo home run by
Amanda Meade and two RBI's by
Samantha Martinez the Royals could not keep up with their opponent's potent offense
.
The Royals are now 7-5 on the year and complete the final day of the tournament with games against UNC Pembroke and North Georgia.
