Lyndey McCurry (Commerce, Ga., Hebron Christian) started the game for the Royals going four innings and only giving up one run, a solo homerun in the third. Ashley Rollins (Fairfax, Va., Fairfax) and Bodine came on in relief allowing two runs in two innings. The Royals only hit of the game came from Britt as Trojans starter Lauren Smith shut down the high powered Royals offense pitching a complete game.
The game featured great pitching from both sides as offenses struggled for both teams. A solo homerun in the third separated the two teams until the sixth inning when the Trojans tacked on two insurance runs to put the game out of reach.
