Men’s lacrosse dominates Lees-McRae

Box Score CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Queens University of Charlotte (6-7) picked up a dominating 19-3 win over Lees-McRae College this afternoon at Dickson Field in men's lacrosse action. The win improves the Royals' conference record to 3-1. The Bobcats are still in search of their first win of the season at 0-12.
 
Casey Hock (Danville, Calif., Monte Vista) led the Royals today with four goals and three assists to total seven points. Garrett Chan (Port Coquitlam, B.C., Terry Fox Secondary School) and Austin Oswinkle (Narragansett, R.I., Trinity-Pawling) each notched four points on two goals and two assists apiece. Steve McKee (Holt, Mich., Holt) and Evan Farkas (Havre de Grace, Md., C. Milton Wright) added three points, while Tim Cloud (Severna Park, Md., Severna Park), Jason Krogulski (Naperville, Ill., Benet Academy) and Jimmy Baker (Prince Fredrick, Md., The Calverton School) each tallied two. Tyler Rogers (Apex, N.C., Apex) was dominant at the face-off position winning 14-of-23.
 
On the defensive end, Adam Oscienny (Calgary, Alberta, Canada, William Aberhart)Mike Reed (Canandaigua, N.Y., Canandaigua Academy) and Dillon Draper (Huntingtown, Md., The Calverton School) each collected three caused turnovers. The Royals totaled 17.
 
After holding a 3-1 lead at the end of the first quarter, the Royals would use a 4-0 run in the second to head into the break leading 7-1.
 
Queens would open things up in the third quarter, putting 10 in the back of the net within the 15 minutes. The 16-point margin proved to be too much for the Bobcats to overcome in the fourth as Queens took the home victory.
 
The Royals outshot Lees-McRae 47-16 and totaled 38 ground balls in the win. Eric Dolan took the win in the cage after splitting time with Nick Simonetti. The two combined for nine saves.
 
Jeff White led the Bobcats with two goals. Ryan Harrison took the loss in the net after getting 12 stops.
 
Queens travels to face No. 3 Limestone College on Saturday at 1 p.m.
