Royals offense overruns the Bulldogs

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 WILSON, N.C. – The Queens softball team travelled to Barton College yesterday in a crucial Conference Carolinas matchup against the Bulldogs. The Royals were able to pick up two wins and improve their record to 10-13.

Game one

In game one the Royals flexed their muscles and show their offensive prowess picking up nine hits including two home runs by Emma Schultz (Silver Spring, Md., Paint Branch)  The junior shortstop for the Royals also added five runs batted in, and Megan Lathbury (Georgetown, Del., Sussex Central) joined her with multiple hits with three of her own.

From the circle Ashley Rollins (Fairfax, Va., Fairfax) and Kaitlyn Bodine (Scottsville, Va., Monticello) combined to give up just five hits and three earned runs to give Queens a 6-4 victory.

Game two

The Royals were not only replicate their offense but doubled the runs scored in a 12-2 win against the Bulldogs. The Royals had 15 hits in the game including three home runs by Kaitlyn Cheek (Richmond, Va., JR Tucker )  who ended the game with seven runs batted in. Also with multiple hits was Whitney Britt (Gibson, N.C., Scotland) with four, Schultz with three, and Bodine with two.

From the circle Lyndey McCurry (Commerce, Ga., Hebron Christian) went seven innings and only gave up two runs.
