Royals blank Falcons

Box Score MISENHEIMER, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte men's soccer team picked up a nonconference victory on the road this afternoon blanking Pfeiffer University 4-0. The win brings the Royals' overall record to 12-3, while dropping Pfeiffer's record to 8-8-1.
 
Queens struck fast with a goal 6:37 into play to go up 1-0. Junior midfielder Kevin Anderson beat Pfeiffer goalkeeper Nicolas Dulac high in the net after receiving a through ball from senior forward Felipe Netto for the goal. The Royals would put three more shots on goal before the break, but Dulac turned each of one away.
 
The Royals found their next three goals in the final 30 minutes of regulation with the first coming from Yannick Fischbach from 30 yards out. Netto notched his second assist of the day on the play. Not even a minute later, senior midfielder Thiago Andrade put Queens ahead, 3-0. After gathering a pass from sophomore forward Erick Suarez, Andrade beat his defender to fire a shot into the back of the net.
 
Queens' second unit would net the final goal of the day in the final 1:30. Sophomore defender Michael Valenzuela sent a cross into the box that was possessed by sophomore midfielder Ryan King. King then beat Dulac to the right post for his second goal of the season.
 
Montrell Morgan collected the win in goal for Queens bringing his record to 12-2 on the season. The shutout was his seventh.
 
The Royals return to Dickson Field to wrap up the regular season on Saturday against Lenoir-Rhyne. Queens will be looking to clinch the SAC Regular Season Title with a Senior Day win. Kick-off is at 4:30 p.m.
