CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The implications of the last regular season games for both Limestone and Queens grew as the top seed Erskine split a series with the fourth seed Coker and the Conference Carolinas Championship was up for grabs. Queens would need to sweep the Saints to have a chance for the title, while Limestone needed to win just one to earn a piece. The luck wasn't with the home team on Senior Night as the Saints (24-28-1/14-4 CC) would sweep Queens (18-17/10-8 CC) 8-1, 9-3 at Park Road Park in Charlotte, N.C.
Up next for the Royals is the Conference Carolinas Tournament in Hartsville, S.C. The double elimination tournament starts Friday and Queens has made light work of the tournament the past two years, winning the Conference Carolinas Tournament Championship the past two seasons.
Game 1
Limestone 8
Queens 1
The Saints posted three runs in the opening inning.
Queens got one back in the second when
Kaitlyn Cheek (Richmond, Va., JR Tucker ) scored off of an
Alisha Waldrop (McDonough, Ga., Luella) single.
Following the second, the Royals never were able to get the offense going. The team collected just two hits in the remaining five innings.

Brandy Jester (Georgetown, Del., Sussex Central) takes the loss for Queens, dropping to 11-12 on the season. The offense scattered four hits throughout the game, all from different players.
Limestone's Emily Wallace earns the win for the Saints. Kirstyn Burleson and Taylor Wigmore each went 2-4 with one RBI.
Game 2
Limestone 9
Queens 3
It was a similar story to the second game of the series. Limestone scored multiple runs in the opening inning, followed it with a pair in the second and held the Royals off.
With a 7-0 lead through the third with Leah Quant giving up just one hit, the Royals finally broke through in the fourth. Waldrop hit her seventh career home run to put Queens on the board.
The Royals added another two runs in the fifth when
Chantel Dodge (Shalimar, Fla., Choctawhatchee) hit her first home run of the season. Limestone answered back by scoring another two runs to hold a lead of six, 9-3.
In the sixth, Queens loaded the base using two singles, one from Jester and one from Waldrop, and a Limestone error. The Royals ran out of outs before the runners could be plated.
Queens went down in order in the seventh, never getting a rally going.
Dodge suffers the loss and falls to 7-5. Quant takes the win and improves to 8-7.
Waldrop had the only multi-hit game for Queens with two of the team's six hits. Heather Mills turned in a strong performance for Limestone going 4-4 with three RBI and one run.
