Royals continue Lax 4 Life efforts

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Starting this weekend, 63 women's lacrosse teams spread across all three NCAA levels will come together for two weeks in support of adolescent suicide awareness by participating in Lax-4-Life. The Queens University of Charlotte Women's Lacrosse Team will be dedicating Saturday afternoon's game against Erskine College to these efforts.

Lax4Life brings together teams from across NCAA Division II women's lacrosse to show support and raise awareness for suicide prevention. The teams and coaching staffs will wear special Lax-4-Life t-shirts during warm-ups and pose for a group photo prior to the game.

Lax-4-Life raised 17,000 dollars primarily for the Allyson Green Foundation in 2010. This year the initiative has already surpassed that amount and Lax-4-Life has incorporated in to a non-profit. Dollars are now being raised for multiple foundations dedicated to raising the awareness and prevention of adolescent suicides.

Teams are free to decide how they want to raise money for the cause, and the Royals will be taking donations as well as selling Lax-4-Life gear during their game.

Saturday's game is set to begin at 2 pm.
