ARNOLD, Md.- The Queens University of Charlotte women's lacrosse team traveled to face the No. 7 Mercyhurst College Lakers at Anne Arundel Community College falling 15-12. The Royals fall to 3-4 on the season as Mercyhurst improves to 2-1.
The Royals were led by
Emily Balmer (Damascus, Md., Damascus),
Amanda Martin (Geneva, N.Y. , Geneva), and
Brittany Philip (Corning, N.Y., Corning East) who each recorded hat tricks. Martin's hat trick was her third of the season.
Shannon Casey led all players with six assists on the day. Philip collected five draw controls.
Queens led the entire game until the final minutes of play when Mercyhurst took over the lead for the win.
The Lakers were led by Kimberly Masterson and Elizabeth Tice who each notched four goals.
Queens will return to the field tomorrow to face Bloomsburg at noon.
