CHARLOTTE, N.C.-
Chantel Dodge (Shalimar, Fla., Choctawhatchee) (5-1) threw her third career no-hitter, first this season, to help the Royals (8-4; 3-1 Conference Carolinas) sweep Saint Andrews Presbyterian College (2-9; 0-2 CC) in Laurinburg, N.C. Tuesday afternoon. The Royals won game one 13-0 (5) and the second game 10-2. Dodge missed a perfect game by just one walk.
Brandy Jester (Georgetown, Del., Sussex Central) (3-3) threw in the second game and gave up just five hits. The Royals offense faired just as well, racking-up 18 hits on the day.

Queens posted four run in the opening inning of play.
Megan Lathbury (Georgetown, Del., Sussex Central) had a two-run single to bring the first two runs in and Jester stole home for the third. Lathbury was driven in by
Brittany Harrell (Morganton, N.C., Freedom) just before the inning ended. Queens batted around putting the top of the line-up up to start the second.
The Royals like to score runs in the first, notching 16 run in first inning this season, the most of any inning.
Queens turned three hits into seven runs in the second to take an 11-0 lead in the second.
An
Emily Poulton (Temecula, Calif., Great Oak) double and a
Maria Goode (Charlotte, N.C., Providence) single drove in the last two runs for Queens.
Goode turned in the only multi-hit performance with two hits on five chances.

Jester took the circle in the second game and allowed just one earned run. At the plate she had two doubles, three hits and five RBI. Her double in the third put the first two runs on the board.
Saint Andrew was able to score two in the fourth. Lex Cowger hit a double to right-center field to bring in one earned run and one unearned run. The Knights would get on base three more times in the game with three singles, but the Royals defense did not let the runners get past first.
Jester's second double of the game brought in the next two runs. Lathbury connected again with a single and brought Jester home for the third run in the sixth.
The Royals tacked on another five in the seventh and won the game 10-2.
Queens heads back to Salisbury, N.C. to play in the Catawba Tournament on Feb. 25, 26 and 27th.
