Brevard, N.C. - The Queens University of Charlotte men's soccer team fell this afternoon in a non-conference contest with Brevard College 1-0. The Royals' overall record falls to 4-10-1 as they head in to their final regular season game against Conference Carolinas opponent Barton College. Brevard improves to 3-12-1 overall this season.
The only goal in the match came within the first four minutes of play. Brevard's Sean Allison (Santa Rosa, Calif.) took a pass from Scott Schuurman (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada) and kicked the ball in mid-air to beat Royals keeper John Rush (Jacksonville, Fla., Bolles) placing the ball into the right side of the net.
The Royals struggled converting shots to goals taking 17 shots and outshooting the Tornados by five. Queens' defense made a strong push in the second half holding the home team to two shots in an effort to help even the score.
Rush played all 90 minutes in goal making six saves.
Pauli Jussila (Valkeakoski, Finland) played he entire game in net for Brevard picking up his first win of the season and making five saves.
The Royals have untill Saturday to recover for their Senior Day game against Barton College at 4:30 p.m.
