CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The men's soccer team at Queens University of Charlotte stumbled this afternoon in a 5-0 loss to Limestone College. The Royals are in fifth place in Conference Carolinas with a 3-5 conference record and a 4-8 overall record. Limestone (5-1 9-4) sits in third place after the win.
The Royals outshot the Saints 5-2 in a scoreless first half of play as both teams struggled in connecting the ball with the back of the net.
The Saints entered the second half with all the momentum scoring five second half goals for the win.
Keegan Ziada notched his goal first at 50:58 after receiving a ball from Marvin Hudson. Twelve minutes later Joe Barber scored a goal assisted by Ziada.
Mike Stephenson scored an unassisted header for the Saints' third goal. Joe Barber's goal in the 82nd minute was scored after his shot bounced off of Queens' keeper.
The fifth goal for Limestone was scored when Bruno Roque floated a ball over the Royals' keeper. Dean Imray was awarded the assists.
Queens will have two home games this week in search of a win. They will host Wingate University first on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
