CHARLOTTE, N.C.- In the second day of the Converse Volleyball Invitational, hosted by Converse College, Queens split its contests with University of Virginia College at Wise and Converse.  First the Royals defeated UVAC-Wise in three sets, 25-17; 25-20; 25-17, but then fell in the Conference Carolinas season opener 3-2 to the Valkyries, 16-25; 25-23; 28-30; 25-23; 10-15.

The Royals have started the season with a record of 3-1 and 0-1 in league play. More details about today's contests will be posted as they become available.

Queens continues league play on Sept. 8 at Belmont Abbey College then hosts Mars Hill at 6:30pm on Sept. 9 in nonconference action.
