CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Queens University of Charlotte Royals went down fighting as they posted a valiant effort against the Limestone Saints losing 20-11 this afternoon. The strong offensive force from the Saints proved to be more than Queens could handle, as Renee Alboro scored 6 goals, Katie Ilott scored 4 goals, Mellisa Howard and Lauryn Wise each had a hat trick, and Katie Lickert scored once and tallied five assists.
Despite Limestone's powerful offensive threat, the Royals played well as a team and managed to continue to put pressure on the Saints offensively and defensively. The score was 3-13 at half as the Saints fired 26 shots, while the Royals had 6. The second half proved to be a different story, as the Royals came away with 15 shots, only one shy of the 16 Limestone posted. Scoring eight points in the second half, the Royals went on a scoring streak as they racked up the first three goals of the half as well as the final three goals.
