Royals Set for ASUN Indoor Track & Field Championships

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Queens University of Charlotte men's and women's track and field teams are set to compete in the 2026 ASUN Indoor Track & Field Championships, which are scheduled to take place in Louisville, Ky., at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center on February 28-March 1.
 
WHAT HAPPENED LAST SEASON
  • The Queens men's team completed the 2025 ASUN Championships in seventh place.
  • The Queens women's team captured a fourth-place finish at the 2025 ASUN Championships. Vesna Kljajevic won silver in the shot put while Halle Perry earned gold in the pentathlon.
MEN'S TOP MARKS
  • Oliver Cooper has the second-best time, 1:52.02, in the ASUN in the 800-meter run.
  • Three Royals sit in the top ten for the triple jump. Josiah Ford leads the pack in the fourth position with a mark of 14.69 meters. Mekhi Davis and Dyson Abrams, respectively, sit seventh and tenth with marks of 14.11 meters and 13.70 meters.
  • Additionally, Ford enters with the ninth-best high jump mark, 1.85 meters, in the league.
  • Petar Canak enters with the seventh-best long jump score with a 6.97-meter mark.
  • Jakob Nutzel ranks tenth with a 14.26-meter mark in the shot put.
  • The DMR team, consisting of Jacob Sarto, James Jones, Oliver Cooper, and Dennis Devine, has the third-fastest time, 10:18.04, in the ASUN this season.
WOMEN'S TOP MARKS
  • Vesna Kljajevic enters with a third-place rank in the shot put with a mark of 14.06 meters.
  • Rowan Shannon has the eighth-best mark, 2:14.63, in the ASUN in the 800-meter run.
  • Sara Sandric enters with the fourth-best high jump mark, 1.61 meters, in the league, with Halle Perry one spot behind with a height of 1.60 meters.
  • Jada Brown ranks ninth in the triple jump with a mark of 11.53 meters.
  • Perry and Brown also enter 10th and 11th in the league with marks of 5.49 and 5.44 meters in the long jump.
