ORLANDO, FLA. — The Queens University of Charlotte swimming and diving teams delivered a statement performance on day three of the 2026 ASUN Swimming & Diving Championships, powered by event victories and stacked finals appearances.
With one day remaining, the Royals' men lead the championship with 599.5 points, while the women sit in third place with 882.5 points.
MEN'S TEAM HIGHLIGHTS
- Queens delivered one of its most dominant events of the meet in the 200 butterfly, flooding the championship final with five scorers. Nick Karaivanov captured gold in 1:45.97, while Akos Horvath followed with silver in 1:46.05. Matt Shanahan (4th), Keegan McKenney (5th), and Emil Harlem (7th) added crucial A-final points as the Royals widened their lead.
- In the 100 backstroke, Pablo Ortega Navarro earned silver in 46.38, and Caden Fritz secured bronze in 47.30 to give Queens two podium finishes in the event.
- On the boards, Juan Gonzalez earned the first gold in diving in program history in the 1 meter.
- Callen Barton finished with a 52.63 in the 100 breast, solidifying a school record.
- The Royals closed the session with a runner-up finish in the 800 freestyle relay, as Daniel Meszaros, Stamatis Paleocrassas, Stefan Steyn, and TJ Spokas combined for a 6:24.57 finish.
