ORLANDO, FLA. — The Queens University of Charlotte swimming and diving teams put together a strong opening day at the ASUN Swimming & Diving Championships. The Royals' men's team leads the way with 171.5 points, while the women's team sits in third with 264 points after the first day of competition.
"Amazing start to our first night," Director of Swimming Jeff Dugdale. "Multiple podium finishes, two Conference records and a school record. We travel well, our parents are here in full force to watch their student athletes. It's great to be a Royal!"

MEN'S TEAM HIGHLIGHTS
The Royals wasted no time making an impact and sit atop the leaderboard after day one.
Men's Team Standings (Through Day One):

The night was headlined by a historic performance in the 200 medley relay. The quartet of Pablo Ortega Navarro, Callen Bartone, Emil Harlem, and Nien Levy captured gold in 1:24.34, setting a new ASUN Championship meet record, conference record, and Queens school record.
Individually, Matheus Przewalla claimed the ASUN title in the 200 IM with a time of 1:45.65. Harlem added a fifth-place finish, while Keegan McKenney contributed points in the B final.
Queens also delivered a strong showing in the 500 free, as Akos Horvath earned bronze in 4:25.64. Matt Shanahan (6th) and Jack Vanvalkenburg (7th) added valuable championship-final points.
In the 50 free, Nien Levy led the sprint group with a fourth-place finish (19.61). Stamatis Paleocrassas tied for sixth (19.75), Daniel Meszaros placed eighth (19.82), and Ortega Navarro added a ninth-place finish (19.90).
WOMEN'S TEAM HIGHLIGHTS
On the women's side, the Royals sit in third place through the opening day of competition.

Leonie Tenzer delivered one of the top swims of the evening in the 500 free, winning the event in 4:46.80 and setting a new ASUN conference record.
In the 200 IM, Abigail Zboran earned gold in 1:59.84, while Sabina Kupcova secured silver in 2:00.87 to give Queens a 1-2 finish.
The Royals also saw a strong showing in the 50 free, led by Maren Patterson's runner-up finish in 22.66. Libby Livesay placed seventh (23.36), and Daryna Maznytska added points with a 12th-place finish (23.62).
The women's 200 medley relay team of Zboran, Livesay, Maddie Foster, and Patterson capped the evening with a second-place finish in 1:38.40.
