Records: North Florida (24-26 overall, 12-14 ASUN) | Queens (8-41 overall, 6-20 ASUN)

The Short Story:
After inclement weather halted game two of the weekend series on Friday, the Queens University of Charlotte baseball team returned to the diamond at North Florida on Saturday afternoon. The two squads picked up the action in the top of the sixth inning with the game tied 4-4. North Florida plated three runs over the final three innings to capture the game two victory, and the weekend series.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Queens jumped on the Ospreys quickly in the top of the first inning. Ryan Brown laced a leadoff single before Nick Alderfer worked a one-out walk. Veteran Will Budnick stepped in and laced a two-run double down the right field line to give Queens an early 2-0 advantage.
-The visiting Royals carried that momentum into the top of the second inning. Jay Polite reached via hit-by-pitch to start the inning before a pair of wild pitches advanced him to third. Chase Fogg capitalized ripping an RBI double down the left field line to extend the Royals lead to 3-0.
-North Florida cut into the deficit in the bottom of the second inning when Seth Alford belted a solo home run to start the inning. The Ospreys would load the bases, but Queens reliever Derek Westfall worked out of the jam to strand the bases loaded.
-The Royals extended their lead back to three in the top of the fourth inning with one run on two hits. Jake Barbour led off the frame with a single to right field before a ground out moved him into scoring position. The Ospreys picked up a strikeout as they looked to escape the jam, but freshman Lenox Lively sent a 2-2 pitch back up the middle for an RBI single.
-The Ospreys chipped away at the deficit in the bottom of the fifth inning with three runs on four hits. Connor Moore got the frame started with a double to left center before a fly out advanced Moore up 90 feet. Cade Bush capitalized with an RBI single to right center and Seth Alford followed with a double down the left field line to put a pair in scoring position. Tyler Gerteisen sent a sacrifice fly to left field to plate a run and move Alford up to third. North Florida wasn't done yet as Eric Fouraker laced an RBI double to left field to tie the game 4-4.
-The game would be postponed in the top of the sixth inning due to inclement weather in the Jacksonville area. The two teams got back on the diamond on Saturday and resumed action in the sixth. North Florida jumped back to action by taking the lead with two runs. With runners on the corners and two outs, Cade Bush delivered an RBI single to center field. The Ospreys still threatened with two outs and runners on the corners and a wild pitch brought across another run for the 6-4 lead.
-In the bottom of the eighth inning, the Ospreys manufactured an insurance run following a leadoff double from Connor Moore. Mitchell Collins advanced Moore to third with a ground out to first and Cade Bush brought him home with a sacrifice fly.

BY THE NUMBERS
-Seven different Royals recorded a hit on the game, including Ryan Brown, Nick Alderfer, Will Budnick, Jake Barbour, Jacob Grimes, Chase Fogg, and Lenox Lively.
-Will Budnick laced his ninth double of the season and drove in two runs for the Royals.
-Jack Renaud made his 24th appearance of the season, and 15th start and turned in a scoreless inning with a strikeout.

Score: North Florida 9 | Queens 8
Records: North Florida (25-26 overall, 13-14 ASUN) | Queens (8-42 overall, 6-21 ASUN)
Location: Harmon Stadium (Jacksonville, Fla.)

The Short Story:
Despite taking an 8-4 lead into the bottom of the ninth inning, the Queens University of Charlotte baseball team dropped the series finale at North Florida on Saturday night by a final score of 9-8 in 10 innings. The game was halted after five innings due to lightning, and the delay lasted approximately two hours before the teams returned for the final five innings of action. The final frames saw back-and-forth scoring as the offenses combined to plate 11 runs during that span.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Queens jumped on the board in the top of the third inning with one run on two hits. Tyler Peters led off the inning with a walk before Lenox Lively dropped down a sacrifice bunt to advance Peters into scoring position. Freshman Ryan Brown capitalized with an RBI single to center field to grab the early 1-0 advantage.
-North Florida responded in the bottom of the third with a run. Brady Browning reached on a single to the pitcher and swiped second to get into scoring position. Drew Leinenbach dropped down a sacrifice bunt to move Browning up to third and Nick Monile brought the run home with a single to center field.
-In the top of the fourth inning, Queens countered with a run on two hits. Senior Logan Schmitt led off the inning with a solo blast to left field to give the Royals a 2-1 lead.
-The lead was short-lived again as Jabin Bates roped a one-out triple to right field. Santiago Ordonez followed it up with an RBI double to center field to tie it back up.
-For the third straight inning, Queens scratched across a run. After the first two Royals were sat down on eight pitches, Queens went to work with two outs. Anibal Rivera worked a walk and Nick Alderfer was hit by a pitch to put the Royals in business. Logan Schmitt stepped in and delivered a timely two-run double through the left side to give Queens a 4-2 lead.
-The game would go into a two-hour lightning delay in the top of the sixth inning. Once both teams returned to the field, Queens wasted no time jumping back on the board as Ryan Brown led off the top of the sixth inning with a solo home run to left field.
-North Florida returned the favor in the bottom of the sixth with two runs on two hits. With runners in scoring position and one out, Seth Alford rocketed a two-run double to left field to cut the Ospreys deficit back to one.
-Queens got one of those runs back in the top of the eighth inning with a timely hit. Tyer Peters reached on an error to lead off the inning and Lenox Lively moved Peters into scoring position with a sacrifice bunt. Freshman Ryan Brown stepped in and singled to center field to put runners on the corners. Jake Barbour would hit a ground ball to second base, and the Ospreys exchanged the run for an out as the Royals lead was back to two heading down the final stretch.
-In the top of the ninth inning, Queens tacked on a pair of key insurance runs. With runners in scoring position and one out, Tyler Peters ripped a two-run single to center field to extend the Royals lead to 8-4.
-North Florida would not go away, however, scoring four runs on three hits in the bottom of the ninth inning to send the game to extra innings. Seth Alford provided the big blow with a three-run homer to left field to tie the game 8-8.
-After retiring the Royals in the top of the 10th inning, the Ospreys came to bat looking for the winning run. Carter White worked a one-out walk and stole second to put the winning run in scoring position. The move proved right as Connor Moore laced a two-out RBI double to center field to clinch the series sweep for the Ospreys.
