KNOXVILLE, TENN. — The Queens University of Charlotte swimming and diving teams put together a strong opening day at the 2025 ASUN Swimming & Diving Championships. The Royals' men's team lead the way with 255 points, while the women's team is positioned in third with 168 points after the first day of competition.

MEN'S TEAM HIGHLIGHTS
The Royals wasted no time making an impact, finishing the day atop the leaderboard. Queens holds a narrow lead over Florida Atlantic (243 points), while Old Dominion (108), Gardner-Webb (94), and Bellarmine (56) round out the top five.
The day was highlighted by a dominant showing in the 50 free, where Matej Dusa won the event in 19.11 seconds, setting a new ASUN record that he set in 2022 and personal record. Teammate Nien Levy finished close behind in third (19.67).
Queens also shined in the 200 IM, with Matheus Przewalla taking second (1:46.72), just behind Gardner-Webb's Justin Bender.
In relay action, the 200 medley relay team of Andreas Marz, Noah Beladi, Conner Wang, and Matej Dusa won the event in 1:25.67, further cementing Queens' spot atop the leaderboard.
Queens also gained points in men's 3-meter diving, with Jacob Roberts placing fifth (182.65), a new school record, followed by Jacob Browne (6th) and Aidan Henry (7th).
WOMEN'S TEAM HIGHLIGHTS
On the women's side, the Royals finished the day in third place with 168 points, trailing behind Liberty (238) and Florida Gulf Coast (198).
Queens earned a key victory in the 500 free, where Maddie Foster claimed first place with a time of 4:53.65.
In the 200 IM, Abigail Zboran delivered a standout performance, winning the event in 1:56.06, an NCAA Division I B cut time and an ASUN Championship meet record.
The Royals had another strong showing in the 50 free with Ryley Heck taking third (22.25), just behind Liberty's Kamryn Cannings and Aly Bozzuto.
Finally, the women's 200 medley relay team of Maren Patterson, Annika Huber, Maddie Foster, and Ryley Heck secured a podium finish placing third in 1:37.87, just behind Florida Gulf Coast and Liberty. This time earned a spot in the school record books.
