WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte men's and women's track and field teams began the 2025-2026 indoor season today, competing at JDL Fast Track in the Visit Winston-Salem College Kick-off.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
- Thrower Vesna Kljajevic finished second in the women's shot put with a mark of 14.06 meters. The throw places Kljajevic among the nation's top 20. She also took 16th place in the weight throw.
- Halle Perry took third place in the high jump with a mark of 1.59 meters. The multi-athlete also finished sixth in the long jump with a mark of 5.49 meters. On the track, she recorded a time of 9.49 seconds in the women's 60-meter hurdles.
- Jumper Jada Brown finished in 10th place in the triple jump with a mark of 11.09 meters. She also finished 10th in the long jump.
- Rowan Shannon secured a third-place finish in the 800-meter run, recording a top 20 nationally ranked time of 2:17.47.
- In the men's 400-meter seeded event, Trey Leggins finished fourth in 48.19 seconds. His time set a new personal record and ranks in the top 10 nationally.
- Houston Harper also raced in the 400-meter seeded event, taking eighth place. Isaac Battles was 12th.
- Oliver Cooper took sixth place in the men's mile with a time of 4:17.87. His time ranks among the nation's top 20 in the event.
- Josiah Ford finished 10th in the triple jump with a mark of 13.91 meters.
- The men's 4x400 relay team finished third in 3:17.36, a time that ranks in the top 10 nationally today. The team consisted of Leggins, Harper, Battles, and James Jones.

Queens will return to action following the winter break on Saturday, January 17, when they return to JDL Fast Track to compete in the Mondo College Invitational.
