THE MATCHUPS
The Royals and Bruins meet for just the second time in program history. The lone
prior matchup came on Nov. 10, 2018, in Charlotte, when the Royals earned a 98–91 victory.
SCOUTING THE ROYALS (4–4 overall)
- Queens enters the matchup averaging 62.5 points per game, shooting 36.7 percent from the field and 32.5 percent from three, while converting 11.6 free throws per contest through eight games.
- The Royals are pulling down 38.0 rebounds per game, with interior production driven by their frontcourt. Queens has recorded 40 or more rebounds in four games this season.
- Defensively, Queens is generating 8.5 steals and 3.1 blocks per game, applying consistent pressure at the point of attack while protecting the paint.
- Brenae Jones-Grant continues to be the centerpiece inside, averaging 14.9 points and 9.0 rebounds per game while shooting 58.2 percent from the floor. She leads the ASUN in field goal percentage and ranks 30th nationally, anchoring both ends of the floor. Jones-Grant has posted three double-doubles and owns a season-high 28 points set at South Carolina State.
- Ana Barreto provides perimeter firepower at 11.3 points per game and ranks among the ASUN leaders with 21 made three-pointers, shooting 32.8 percent from deep. She also leads the team in minutes played and has totaled 16 steals.
- Jermany Mapp adds 8.6 points per game, knocking down 10 threes while shooting 86.7 percent at the free-throw line (13–15), providing steady scoring and experience in the backcourt.
- Breah Franks continues to give Queens productive minutes off the bench, averaging 4.9 points on 54.8 percent shooting.
SCOUTING THE BRUINS (2-8 overall)
- Carolina enters Sunday at 2–8 overall, averaging 59.9 points per game while allowing 82.3, resulting in a –22.4 scoring margin through ten contests.
- The Bruins are shooting 31.9 percent from the field and 24.3 percent from three, making 5.7 threes per game, while opponents are converting 41.6 percent overall and 29.7 percent from deep.
- Jakyiiah Willis adds 10.7 points per game, while also leading the team in assists (19).
- Dearia Page provides interior production at 9.8 points and 7.1 rebounds per game, serving as the Bruins' most consistent rebounder.
- Carolina averages 41.3 rebounds per game, but opponents hold a +8.5 rebounding margin, consistently controlling the defensive glass.
- The Bruins average 20.4 turnovers per game, posting a –4.0 turnover margin.
- Defensively, Carolina generates 7.9 steals per game and 2.3 blocks, but opponents continue to score efficiently across all four quarters.
