GAME 2, SECOND ROUND - QUEENS 0, CENTRAL ARKANSAS 1
- Queens and Central Arkansas battled inning-by-inning, with action getting started off a scoreless first frame. Neither squad was able to get a runner on base, and in the bottom half, Autumn Courtney struck out a Sugar Bear and left fielder Natalie Windham swiftly ended the inning with a nice sliding catch.
- The first hits from each squad occurred in the second inning, but neither team built on the momentum.
- Madison Cantoni singled in the top half of the third inning to try to inspire the Royals offense, but Central Arkansas held off a Royals run. The Bears offense added two more hits to their tally in the bottom of the inning, but Courtney left them stranded with two strikeouts in the frame.
- In the fourth, the first Royal reached scoring position in the road half after a Kasidi Staley single was moved over on the base path, but she wasn't brought home. Central Arkansas was retired in order after Courtney and her defense settled in.
- Cantoni would once again pierce a hit — this time, a double — but the next two Royals would be retired. Central Arkansas would be retired in order in the next frame.
- The next two innings would be scoreless yet again for the two squads — sending the game to extra innings. Julia Petty, Central Arkansas' ace, would come to the circle in the top of the seventh and strand two Queens baserunners while Courtney would strand one.
- In the top of the eighth, Lindsey DeRoeck laced a single through the left side to spark the Royals after a pop out. Haley Hmiel followed with a base hit to left center to put two Royals runners on. Despite a wild pitch to move runners to second and third, Central Arkansas would escape further damage and head to the dugout.
- In the bottom of the eighth, a single, two walks, and another single would bring in the winning run for the Sugar Bears to claim the 1-0 triumph.
