LYNCHBURG, VA--- The Queens University of Charlotte track and field team started the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational off strong with multiple finishes in the top 10 and new school marks.
Notable Friday Marks
- Halle Perry led the day for the Royals with two new school marks. Perry got the ninth best 60m hurdles with a time of 9.23. In the long jump, Perry got the 10th best long jump in school history with a best jump of 17'8".
- Kalil Dennison got the third best in the 60m dash with a time of 7.06. Tate Kwaiser got the sixth best time in the same race with a time of 7.11.
- In the 400m run, Aiden Vanderbilt got the 10th best time in school history with a 51.29.
- Rowan Shannon got the 10th best in school history in the 800m run as she finished eighth with a time of 2:20.26.
- Moritz Kleesiek also got the 10th best time in school history in the 3000m run as he finished ninth with a time of 8:16.19.
- Evie Wild improved her third best mark in school history in the 800m as she finished with a time of 2:14.15.
- Emilija Kusic finished seventh in the 60h with a time of 9.01.
- Lance Sotelo and Preston Gantt both finished in the top 10 in the 5000m run with times of 15:18.52 and 15:55.57.
- Chloe Widmann got the sixth-place finish in the 3000m run with a time of 10:41.39.

It was a good first day for us as we had a lot of people doubling back and a lot of field events tomorrow. Our goal is to be a day two team and seven top 10 performances is a great start. Looking forward to seeing even better results tomorrow."
