CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's lacrosse team is scheduled to begin their 2024 campaign on Saturday, February 10 at ECU in Greenville, N.C. The game with the Pirates is scheduled to begin at noon at Johnson Stadium.
ABOUT QUEENS
- Queens is led by second-year head coach Kelly McQuilkin.
- The Royals are coming off of a successful first year in DI having posted a 10-8 overall record and reaching the semifinal round of the ASUN Championship.
- Kayleen Favreau led the Royals last season in goals and in points tallying 57 points on 47 goals and 10 assists. Elise Grissett totaled 23 points on 19 goals and four assists as a freshman while Maura O'Donoghue tallied 19 points on 19 goals and nine assists. O'Donoghue also tallied 39 draw controls.
- Favreau was named to the Preseason All-ASUN Team while the Royals were voted to finish fourth in the ASUN Preseason Coaches Poll.
ABOUT ECU
- The Pirates are led by first-year head coach Brittany Dipper.
- ECU picked up 10 wins a season ago, and return three all-conference performers in Frances Kimel, Alexandria Giacolone. And Brynn Knight. All three earned Preseason All-American Conference honors.
LAST MEETING
The Royals and the Pirates met for the first time last season with ECU coming out on top, 11-9.
Kayleen Favreau recorded four points on two goals and two assists in the loss while
Elise Grissett added two goals.
