DOHA, QATAR — Queens University of Charlotte swimmers Matej Dusa, Frantisek Jablcnik, and Daniel Meszaros represented the countries of Slovakia and Hungary from Feb. 11 to Feb. 17 at the World Aquatic Championships held in Doha, Qatar. 

On Sunday, Feb. 11, Matej Dusa and Frantisek Jablcnik swam in the 400 Free Relay with a time of 3:24.70 and placed 17th (considered a new Slovakian swimming record), while Daniel Meszaros swam in the 400 Free Relay and qualified for the finals where his squad finished fifth with a time of 3:13.66. 

Jablcnik was the only swimmer on Monday, Feb. 12, where he swam individually in the 200 Free and swam a 1:50.88.

On Wednesday, Feb. 14, Dusa swam in the 100 Free and set a new Slovakian national record with a time of 49.12, finishing in 21st place. Rounding out the week, Dusa swam in the 50 Free on Friday, Feb. 16 and qualified for the semifinals — where he placed 16th with a new personal best time of 22.12 in the event.

To date, Dusa now holds four individual Slovakian records (recognized or waiting approval by the Slovak Swimming Federation) in long course (LC) swimming alone, and four in LC relay swimming events. 

On the final day of Saturday, Feb. 17 for the Royals, Dusa swam in the 400 Free Mix Relay and his team qualified for the finals. They finished seventh with a time of 49.23.
