CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Queens University of Charlotte swim teams delivered impressive performances on the opening day of the 2024 Kellianne Nagy Fall Frenzy at the Levine Aquatic Center. The Queens women's team clinched the top spot in the 800-yard freestyle relay posting a pool-record time of 7:17.25. The relay team consisted of Sabina Kupcova, Abigail Zboran, Maddie Foster, and Bianca Wettel, whose consistent splits secured the victory. Kupcova and Zboran established early momentum, while Foster and Wettel sealed the win with strong closing splits.
The Queens men's team secured a second place finish in the 800-yard freestyle relay with a time of 6:31.71. The quartet of Daniel Meszaros, Matej Dusa, Ondrej Dusa, and Lance Young staying competitive with top finisher Wingate. Meszaros' swift opening leg set the tone, with Young delivering a strong anchor leg to maintain the Royals' position.
DAY 1 STANDINGS
The Royals concluded the first day with their women's team atop the standings with 108 points, edging out Duquesne (104). The men's team sits in second place with 106 points, just behind Wingate (112). Queens' swimmers will look to build on their early success as the Fall Frenzy continues later this week.
