Women's Basketball Welcomes North Florida on Saturday

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Following a tough loss Wednesday evening, the Queens University of Charlotte women's basketball looks to bounce back as they welcome North Florida into Curry Arena on Saturday Afternoon.

THE MATCHUP
The Royals and the Ospreys played twice last year, with the squads splitting the two matchups. Both teams are still seeking their first conference win of the season. The Royals are coming into the game 6-9, and 0-2 in ASUN play. The Ospreys are 6-11 coming into Saturday's matinee, and 0-3 in ASUN play. 

LAST TIME OUT
  • Queens is coming off a heartbreaking 54-52 loss to Jacksonville in their conference home opener. 
  • Senior guard, Adia Brisker, led the Royals with 15 points on the evening, which set a new season-high for the Pittsburgh native. 
  • The Royals' 24 turnovers plagued the hosting Royals, as the Dolphins converted them into 17 points.
STATS TO KNOW
  • The Royals will be looking to snap a ten game ASUN losing streak. The last ASUN win for the Royals was the 79-75 win against the KSU Owls last season. 
  • The Ospreys and the Royals split the season series last year. The Ospreys took game one inside Curry Arena, 79-62, and the Royals responded with a huge road victory 68-53/
  • The Royals look to continue to defend their home court.  The Royals are 5-3 inside Curry Arena this season.
  • Distributing the ball will be key for the Royals. Queens is 4-1 on the season when they dish out more assists than their opponent. 
  • North Florida is looking to solve their road struggles. Coming into Saturday's matchup, the Ospreys are 1-7 in true road games. 
WHAT'S NEXT
The Royals will be back in action on Thursday, January 18th, as they head down to the Sunshine State to take on Florida Gulf Coast in the first leg of their Florida road trip. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN Plus.
