Welsing Finishes the ASUN Outdoor Championships with Multiple Wins

JACKSONVILLE, FL– The Queens University of Charlotte men's and women's outdoor track and field teams ended the ASUN Outdoor Championships walking away with some first-place finishes. The day was led by Melanie Welsing as she won the 100m hurdle and 400m hurdle.  
 
WHAT HAPPENED?
  • Melanie Welsing won the 100m hurdles with a time of 13.29, just over a .13 second of the ASUN record. Welsing also won the 400m hurdles with a time of 57.88.
  • Martin Knauer finished eighth in the javelin throw with a best throw of 52.68m. Knauer also finished sixth in the discus throw with a best throw of 45.33m.
  • Mitch Cox finished seventh in 1500m with a time of 3:48.59
  • Mark Schittenhelm finished third in the 400m hurdles with a time of 52.18.
  • Queens also finished ninth in the women's 400m relay, sixth in the men's 400m relay, ninth in the women's 1600 relay and seventh men's 1600 relay.
