JACKSONVILLE, FL– The Queens University of Charlotte men's and women's outdoor track and field teams had a great debut at the ASUN Outdoor Championships. The day was filled with top finishes and a new ASUN record holder.
WHAT HAPPENED?
- Melanie Welsing advanced to the 400m hurdles finals with a time of 1:01.90. Welsing also broke the ASUN heptathlon hurdles record with a time of 13.31. She's currently in front of the heptathlon standings with a score of 3499. She also placed first in the 200m dash and high jump.
- The heptathlon team also have 4 athletes in the top 10 with Cerys Lee at fourth place(2982), Emilija Kusic at fifth (2895), Mia Milasinovic(2873) and Halle Perry(2862).
- Heloise Louiset finished third in the long jump with a best jump of 1.63m.
- Mark Schittenhelm advanced to the finals in the 400m hurdles with a time of 52.26.
- Mitch Cox and Zak Freeland advance to the finals in the 1500m.
- Ben Payeur is now eighth in the Decathlon with a score of 2687.
- Dionysius Rolle broke the school record in the 200m with a time of 21.80.
