CLARKSVILLE, TENN. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's tennis team is gearing up for the 2023 ASUN Tournament which is set to begin on Saturday, April 15^th at Austin Peay State University. The #13 Royals and #4 Governors will square off at 4:00 p.m. EST from the campus of Austin Peay. Fans can follow the live stats here.
 
"Our team has embraced challenges all year, consistently working through new plays, tactics, technique, etc. and facing tough opponents every week," said Head Coach Alex Leatu. "They have had great energy and encouraged each other every match no matter the score, louder than most other teams. As we go into our first ASUN Tournament, they will bring that energy again, setting the standard for years to come. We have a great opportunity in front of us."
 
The Royals are embarking on their first ASUN Tournament appearance. Queens enters the tournament 5-17 overall and 0-8 in league action. The Royals and Governors met earlier in the season in Charlotte for the first league match of the season. Austin Peay took the opener 6-1. Despite the loss, Katsiaryna Tuliakova extended her winning streak to five straight matches with a 6-3, 6-2 victory from the top court.
 
In her freshman campaign, Tuliakova has led the Royals with a 10-10 overall record, including a 9-7 mark from the top court. Jill Morse and Hanna Axelsson have combined to go 11-17 between the No. 2 and No. 3 slots. In doubles action, Tuliakova and Axelsson have put together a 6-5 overall record between the top two courts.
