THE SHORT STORY: The Queens University of Charlotte women's tennis team picked up their first Division 1 victory over Johnson C. Smith on Sunday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-Queens opened the afternoon with strong performances on the doubles court.
Jill Morse and Marie Bertran de Balanda cruised to a 6-1 victory on the top court.
Hanna Axelsson and
Katsiaryna Tuliakova took the No. 2 court 6-1. Playing together for the first time,
Nyanyuie Grace Tomegah and
Amelie Allard dominated at No. 3 with a 6-1 victory.

Jill Morse got the Royals on the board first in singles play with a 6-0, 6-4 victory at No. 2.
-Shortly after,
Amelie Allard completed a perfect match at No. 4 by a score of 6-0, 6-0.
-On the top court,
Katsiaryna Tuliakova clinched the first victory for Queens with a 6-0, 6-1 triumph.

Kelsey Sinclaire picked up her second victory of the season with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 6.
-
Hanna Axelsson improved to 3-2 on the season with a 6-1, 6-0 performance at No. 3.
-Making her first career singles start,
Nyanyuie Grace Tomegah completed the sweep with a 7-6, 6-1 win at No. 5.
-The Royals managed to drop the Golden Bulls in two sets across every singles match.
-Queens picked up their first sweep since the SAC Tournament Semifinals against Newberry last season.

The Royals will make the short drive to Gardner-Webb on Wednesday, February 22
nd for a match with the Runnin' Bulldogs.
