Queens Shines Bright on Day Three of CCSA Championships

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Men's and women's swimming continues to show Division I they were more than prepared for the competition as they continue to perform at a high level after an impressive day-three showing at the CCSA Championships. They had a bevy of top finishers on the evening, spearheaded by three broken records; two in individual events and one on a relay.

The men's side kicked off the day with a bang, taking the top three spots in the 100 back. Alexander Bauch set the tone by setting the ccsa championships record and taking the top spot at 46.36, quickly followed by Finn Howard in second (47.63) and Andreas Marz in third (48.17).

Jan Delkeskamp continued the strong performance on the men's side by placing first in the 100 breast, hitting the pad at 53.23. Teammate Balazs Berecz took second with a time of 53.67, while Noah Beladi rounded out the top-three at 53.67. Declan Gleason (54.15) also earned points for the Royals as he would finish fifth.

The women's team got points on the board in the 100 breast as Danielle Melilli would touch the wall first with a time of 1:00.40. Annika Huber promptly came in second at 1:00.54.

Continuing his dominating week, Alex Kunert earned yet another first-place finish by setting the record in the 200 fly, coming in at 1:42.34. Yannick Plasil also grabbed a chunk of points as he'd take third with a time of 1:45.06. Matt Shanahan placed fifth with a time of 1:48.76.

In the final individual event, the women's 200 fly, Sophia Lange hit the pad fourth coming in at 2:01.27. 

RELAYS
The men's 800 free relay squad took to the pool and did what they do best, breaking yet another record as Daniel Meszaros, Alex Kunert, Matej Dusa, and Luke Erwee dashed to a first-place time of 6:24.43. 

On the women's side, Monica Gumina, Sophia Lange, Tova Andersson, and Giulia Grasso took second in the 800 free relay, posting a time of 7:17.00.
