Queens 2024 Women's Tennis Schedule Release

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Queens University of Charlotte women's tennis team announced their schedule for the 2024 spring season on Wednesday afternoon. The schedule features 11 home and 12 away matches.

The Royals begin the season at home on Saturday, January 13th with a home match against Presbyterian. This will be the first-ever matchup between the Royals and Blue Hose after Presbyterian finished 6-15 last season but 4-8 on the road.

The Royals will visit UNC Charlotte, Liberty, Davidson, and the College of Charleston to kick off the Royals' five-match non-conference road stand.

The road stand will end in Boone, N.C. where the Royals will face Appalachian State for a second consecutive season. Last season, the Mountaineers edged past the Royals 4-3 in Charlotte, and Queens will hope for revenge on the setback.

The Royals then return home to host each side of the state against East Carolina and Western Carolina. The Royals were scheduled to play the Catamounts of Western Carolina last season in Cullowhee but the match was canceled. This will also be the first-ever matchup between the Royals and East Carolina Pirates.

In the week of February 18th, the Royals play three matches in North Carolina when they travel to UNC Asheville and UNC Greensboro and also host Florida Gulf Coast. The match against FGCU will be the first conference match of the season.

Following the UNC Greensboro match, the Royals begin a five-match homestand with two ASUN matches. In this stretch, the Royals will host Georgia Southern, Bellarmine, Duquesne, Hampton, and Austin Peay. The first weekend in March features the Bellarmine and Duquesne matches and the weekend of March 16th features the Hampton and Austin Peay matches.

The next four matches will each be on the road for the Royals as they face ASUN foes in Eastern Kentucky, Central Arkansas, Lipscomb, and North Alabama. Of those four teams, the Royals only faced North Alabama last season where they fell 4-2 on Senior Day.

To finish the season, the Royals host North Florida and Stetson and travel to Georgia to face Kennesaw State. Last season, the Royals fell 4-0 to Kennesaw State and 7-0 to Stetson. Going into their second Division I season, the Royals are hoping for their first ASUN conference win and will have plenty of opportunities with 10 scheduled conference games and 21 matches overall.
