THE MATCHUP
This is the first matchup between the teams. Both teams are coming off tough non-conference losses and are looking for a necessary win. The Royals are 0-4 on the road while the Eagles are 2-1 at home.
LAST TIME OUT
- The Royals are coming off a 58-76 loss to SC State on the road.
- The team struggled from the field shooting 21-58 and having its lowest amount of three-point attempts this season.
- For the first time this season, Sophomore Jordyn Weaver led the team with 19 points. Weaver was one rebound shy of recording her second double-double of the season.
- This was the first game Alexandria Johnson or Nicole Gwynn did not lead the team in points for the game.
STATS TO KNOW
- Offensively, Queens will need its leading scorer Nicole Gwynn to have a great scoring performance and get back to double-figure games.
- Nicole Gwynn (17), Alexandria Johnson (11.3), and Jordyn Weaver (11) all currently average double-figure points on the season.
- Defensively, Queens will have to get more stops. The Eagles average 54 points a game and the Royals are 3-0 when they hold their opponents under 55 points.
- Royals look to get their first win on the road and break the 10-game road losing streak dating back to January 14th against North Florida
- The Eagles have played well at home, winning two games and suffering their first home loss on Wednesday to UNCW. Winthrop lost the game in overtime 58-66
