Women's Basketball Set to Take on USC Upstate in Mid-Day Showdown

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Queens University of Charlotte women's basketball team looks to build off of their dominant victory over Johnson & Wales as they host USC Upstate on Friday afternoon. The game begins at noon Eastern time in Curry Arena and marks the seventh all-time match up between the Royals and Spartans.

The Matchup
Both teams are coming off their first victory of the season as each team defeated non-Division I opponents on Tuesday. The Royals defeated Johnson & Wales 101-51 while the Spartans defeated Lees-McRae 72-44. Prior to Tuesday, Queens fell to Ole Miss and LSU in the opening week while USC Upstate fell to Davidson, East Carolina, and Kentucky on the road. Last season, the Royals defeated USC Upstate in Spartanburg 69-48 behind 18 points from Adia Brisker and 17 from Jordyn Weaver. Previous to last season, the Royals dropped the first five meetings between the two squads between 1992 and 1995.

What's Next
The Royals travel west to take on UNC Asheville in Asheville, North Carolina on Tuesday, November 21st at 2:00 PM. This will be the second-ever meeting between the Royals and Bulldogs as UNCA defeated Queens 68-57 last November in Curry Arena. The Royals return home the following Sunday to host Division III Wesleyan College.
