ATLANTA, GA. – Queens University of Charlotte men's soccer freshman goalkeeper
Evan Morris was named ASUN Goalkeeper of the Week following his performance in week nine of the season. Morris became the sixth Royal to garner weekly honors from the league this season.

Oliver Carias. "His hard work and dedication have paid off. We are proud of him during his freshman campaign and his accomplishments are well deserved. Our collective defensive efforts have helped us secure a couple of clean sheets for Evan, including one this past weekend at North Florida."
On the week, Morris started both matches in goal for the Royals and helped them to a 1-1 week with the only loss coming to ACC foe Virginia Tech. In a pivotal weekend cap against North Florida, the freshman rose to the occasion with a clean sheet. The Fort Mill native faced 12 shots and picked up seven saves in his third career shutout. The victory was massive as it kept the Royals postseason chances alive with one league match remaining.
Since taking over in goal last month, the rookie has been phenomenal holding a 3-3-2 overall record with three clean sheets. Morris sits atop the ASUN statistics in goals against average (1.10), save percentage (.804), and saves per game (4.11).
Morris is the second Royal to be named ASUN Goalkeeper of the Week this season after Javier Izquierdo-Curvo earned it week one. He also joins
Mario Goic,
Michel Feldman,
Samuel Idinge, and
Oskar Wolf as Royals to earn weekly praise.
With two matches remaining, the Royals return to the pitch on Wednesday, October 25
th against VMI. Kick-off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. from Dickson Field. The Royals regular season finale with take place on Saturday, October 28
th against FGCU at 4:00 p.m. Queens will honor their senior class prior to the match.
