THE SHORT STORY: The Queens University of Charlotte women's tennis team dropped a Friday afternoon frenzy against ACC opponent Virginia Tech by a final score of 7-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Royals dropped the doubles point as the Hokies won at No. 2 and No. 3. On the top court,
Marie Bertran De Balanda and
Katsiaryna Tuliakova were ahead 5-2 before the Hokies clinched it.
-
Jill Morse fought hard at No. 1 in singles play and took Dariya Radulova into a deciding third set before falling 10-5 in a tiebreaker.
-After dropping the first set on No. 2,
Katsiaryna Tuliakova won the second set before falling in the final frame 6-3.
NEXT UP
The Royals will head east next weekend for a match at UNC Wilmington on Saturday, Feb. 4
th at 1:00 p.m. The match will be the first meeting between the Royals and the Seahawks.
