Four Royals Earn IWLCA All-American Honors

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The No. 1 Queens University of Charlotte Royals had four athletes named to the IWLCA DII All-American Teams announced this afternoon. Forty-eight total student-athletes from 21 different institutions earned the honor this season. Grace Guglielmo was named to the first team while Rebecca Kinsley and Kyleigh Masteran earned second-team recognition. Additionally, Sydney Bracken was named to the third team. Each Royal is earning the honor for the first time in their collegiate careers.
 
Guglielmo, a senior defender, helps to anchor the Royals' defensive unit that is holding teams to an average of just over five goals per game this season. The senior leads Queens in caused turnovers with 38 and in ground balls with 40 after competing in 18 games this season. She also ranks second on the team in draw controls this season with 84. During the regular season, Guglielmo earned SAC Player of the Week honors once. The West Babylon, New York native was named to the SAC All-Conference First Team and the USA Lacrosse Magazine All-American First Team in addition to earning IWLCA All-Region First Team honors.
 
Kinsley, a super senior attacker, leads the Royals and the nation in points this season with 131 recorded on 70 goals and 61 assists. The newcomer also set a new single-season points record at Queens and ranks fifth in assists nationally. Additionally, Kinsley ranks second in points per game averaging 6.24, and seventh in assists per game averaging 2.90. During the regular season, Kinsley earned SAC Player of the Week honors twice. The Long Beach, New York native was recently named to the USA Lacrosse Magazine All-American First Team and the SAC All-Conference First Team and All-Tournament Team in addition to earning IWLCA All-Region First Team honors.
 
Masteran, a super senior midfielder, leads the Royals and ranks first in the nation in goals with 90 this season. She also has 23 assists to follow Kinsley in points with 113 on the year, which ranks third nationally. Masteran also set a new single-season record and program record in goals this season reaching 193 in her career. The fifth year crossed the double-century mark in career points this year averaging a seventh-best 4.29 goals per game and a 12th-best 5.38 points per game. During the regular season, Masteran earned SAC Player of the Week honors a league-leading three times and IWLCA National Player of the Week recognition once. The Hampstead, Maryland native was recently named to the USA Lacrosse Magazine All-American First Team and the SAC All-Conference First Team and All-Tournament Team in addition to earning IWLCA All-Region First Team honors.
 
Bracken, a senior midfielder, earns the honor after starting in every game for the Royals this season. This season, she was named to the SAC All-Conference and All-Tournament teams in addition to earning IWLCA All-Region First Team honors. The Vero Beach, Florida native has totaled 45 points on 32 goals and 13 assists. She has also earned 114 draw controls so far this season to become Queens' all-time leader in the category with a career total of 275. Additionally, Bracken reached, and has since surpassed, 100 career points in the Royals' win over Limestone this season.
 
The Royals are scheduled to face East Stroudsburg in the NCAA DII Women's Lacrosse National Semifinals tomorrow at 5 p.m. in Saint Charles, Mo. This is their third straight appearance in the final four.
