Queens Collects Senior Day Win Over Lindenwood

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's lacrosse team improved to 2-2 in Atlantic Sun Conference play this morning after picking up a 13-9 Senior Day win over Lindenwood (4-8, 1-3). The win is the second in a row for the Royals, who are now 2-9 on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After falling behind 3-0 in the first quarter, Queens found the back of the net twice late in the period to trail by one heading into the second. The Lions then scored four goals in a row to increase their lead to five, 7-2, with 8:18 left in the half. Queens' Camryn Myers answered for the Royals at 3:30 to give the game a 7-3 score at the break.

Queens emerged from the locker room with all the momentum in the second half, as they used a 5-0 run in the third to take over control of the game, 8-7, with 8:52 on the clock. A Lindenwood goal knotted the game, 8-8, with 8:44 to play in the quarter, but Queens' Kayleen Favreau responded with a goal at 6:22 on a feed from Michela Paterson to put the home team in front for good.

The Royals secured their win in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Lions 4-1 to give the game its final score, 13-9.
