CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The No. 12 Queens University of Charlotte women's tennis team suffered their first loss of the season falling to No. 27 Carson-Newman University by a final score of 4-3 at the Howard Levine Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon. The loss snapped the Royals 11 game winning streak as they fall for the first time in South Atlantic Conference action.
 
The Eagles took the doubles point, winning at No. 2 and 3 doubles, despite the Royals clinching the match on the first line with No. 37 ranked Jill Morse and Marie Balanda earning a 7-6 win at No. 1. 
 
The singles matches were just as tight. No. 38 Jill Morse continued to shine with a 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 victory at No. 2 singles. On the next court, Hanna Axelsson picked up a convincing 6-3, 6-2 victory over Khisamova. Caity Klaassen rounded out the Royals victories winning at No. 5 6-7, 6-4, 6-3.
 
Queens will return to the court on Tuesday, April 12 as they travel to Lenoir-Rhyne University for a South-Atlantic Conference match up. Following the road trip, the Royals will honor their senior class on Friday, April 15 with an intra-squad event at the Howard Levine Tennis Center. Ahead of the matches, the Royals will celebrate their seniors.
