CHARLOTTE, N.C - The Queens University of Charlotte women's tennis team turned in an impressive performance in defeating North Carolina A&T State University, 6-1 on Friday afternoon at the Howard Levine Tennis Center. The victory marks the 7
th straight win as the Royals remain perfect on the young season.
The Royals swept doubles play to open competition, beginning with a 6-3 win from the duo of
Hanna Axelsson and
Amelie Allard in the top position. As well as a win by default by Victoria Kilbourn and
Sarah Parker at No. 3.
Klaassen began singles play with a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 1, followed by a 6-3, 6-1 win from
Katya Khramtcova at No. 2.
Amelie Allard clinched the match decision with a 6-4, 6-2
win at No. 4.
Grace Sheldrick continued the streak with a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 3 and
Walker Gagnon won by default to collect the Royals final point.
Queens will hit the road for a crucial South Atlantic Conference match against Tusculum University, Sunday afternoon at 10:00 a.m. in Greenville, TN
