ANDERSON, S.C. – The No. 9 Queens University of Charlotte women's tennis team remained unbeaten as they dropped Anderson University by a final score of 4-3 on Saturday afternoon at the AU Tennis Complex. In three of the five Royals victories on the season, Queens has inched past their opponents by a point. The South Atlantic Conference victory keeps the Royals perfect in league play as they maintain their dominance at the top of the standings.
 
The Royals kicked off the day by winning two of three doubles matches to claim an early lead, led by a 6-0 win at No.1 by the dynamic duo of Jill Morse and Marie Bertran De Balanda. At No. 2 doubles, Viktorija Veselinova/Caity Klaassen dominated 6-4 to secure the doubles point and give the Royals an early advantage.
 
Queens used the momentum from the doubles action to take four of the six first sets in singles play, while also claiming three of six singles matches as senior Viktorija Veselinova defeated her opponent, 6-4, 6-3 on the No. 1 court to clinch the win for the Royals. Marie Bertran De Balanda put the Royals up with a dominant No. 4 performance of 6-4, 6-0, while Caity Klaassen raced out to a 7-6, 4-6, 7-5 win at No. 5 to put the Royals up in match scores.
