CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Queens University of Charlotte women's team (3-0, 2-0 SAC) remained unbeaten with a dominant 7-0 sweep over Coker University (4-7, 0-2 SAC) at the Howard Levine Tennis Center on Tuesday afternoon. The victory improved the Royals to 2-0 in league play.
 
Head Coach Billy Boykin has been pleased with his team's performance so far this season. "I am proud of our entire women's team. We have won some really tight matches in the opening stages of the year to set ourselves up for a good run. We keep getting better each week. I am excited to see how much this team can improve."
 
Queens jumped out early, sweeping all three doubles matches, with the freshman duo Hanna Axelsson and Amelie Allard closing out the triumphs with a 6-4 win in No. 1 doubles. At No. 2 Marie Bertran De Balanda and Katya Khramtcova secured the doubles point with a 6-2 win. As for the senior tandem, Caity Klaassen and Kate Halickman, opened the afternoon with a 6-0 sweep in No. 3 action.
 
Queens kept the momentum going from doubles play by winning first sets on every singles court. All six Royals, Viktorija Veselinova, Jill Morse, Hanna Axelsson, Marie Bertran De Balanda, Grace Forbes, and Amelie Allard emerged victorious in their singles play. The singles play began with a 6-2, 6-4 win by Viktorija Veselinova. Marie Bertran De Balanda clinched the match with a decisive 6-2, 6-0 win. While freshman Amelie Allard collected her first dual match singles win, 6-0, 6-1.
