Royals to Face Eagles in Valentine's Day Showdown

CHARLOTTE, N.C - The Queens University of Charlotte women's basketball team (6-13, 5-13 SAC) will be back in Charlotte to host the Carson-Newman Eagles inside Curry Arena (18-5, 15-4 SAC) on Monday, Feb. 14 at 3 p.m. It will be the second game in the regular-season series with the Eagles.

 LAST TIME OUT
- Queens fell to UVA Wise, 93-74 at home in their Play4Kay game this past Saturday.
 
-  Kalaya Hall scored 35 points to lead Queens, while Amari Davis added 16 points and 11 rebounds for her first double-double of the season. Jori Wilks totaled eight points and Malea Garrision chipped in with seven points and five steals.
 
ABOUT THE ROYALS
-Queens is currently led by Hall who is averaging 21.3 points per game this season to rank fourth in the conference in the category. Additionally, Kristy Hamze is averaging 12.1points per game. Taylor Stevens ranks first in the league with 4.6 assists per game.

-The Royals opened their season with a win over Emory & Henry. It is the first time that Queens has kicked off their season in the win column since 2015. Two of their opponents since then have been nationally ranked.
 
-Head Coach Jen Brown is in her second season leading the Royals. Queens enters the year in rebuilding mode welcoming six newcomers to a squad of nine returners.

ABOUT THE EAGLES
-In their last matchup against No. 14 Catawba on Saturday, the Eagles were edged by the Indians, 56-52.
 
-Braelyn Wykle is leading the Eagles averaging 18.1 points per game, while Lindsey Taylor is chipping in 14.2 points and 7 rebounds per game. Campbell Penland is adding 10.7 points per game and Addison Byrd is totaling 9 points on each outing.

SERIES HISTORY
- Carson-Newman leads the series 14-2 dating back to Jan. 11, 2014.
 
-In their last meeting, the Royals suffered a 105-70 at Carson-Newman.  Hall led the Royals with 15 points, four assists, and three steals. Hamze added 14 points, while Mikayla Sink totaled 13 points off the bench and three rebounds.
