CHARLOTTE, N.C. - With conference play kicking off in two short weeks, Queens will head south to USC Upstate for their last opportunity to prepare for ASUN play on Tuesday, December 20 at 6 PM.
LAST TIME OUT
The Royals hosted their final home game of 2022 last Thursday, taking on the Radford Highlanders. Allie Johnson and
Kasey Kidwell put together solid performances with 17 and 14 points respectively, but Queens would ultimately fall short, 73-57.
INSIDE THE SERIES
Tuesday evening will mark the sixth meeting between Queens and USC Upstate. Queens is 0-5 in those games, having last competed against the Spartans on January 5, 1995, with the Spartans winning 82-71.
Game Notes
Queens University of Charlotte (4-6 overall, 0-0 ASUN)
- Queens' ability to force turnovers has contributed to their strong play early on, as they currently rank third in the ASUN in steals per game with 10.0 per game.
- Adia Brisker has heavily contributed to Queens' offensive output, leading the team in scoring with 11.3 points per game. She's complemented that with 4.5 rebounds per game.
- Hawa Balde-Camara continues to display a strong defensive presence in the paint, ranking third in the ASUN with 1.8 blocks per game,
- Allie Johnson is coming off a season-high 17 points against Radford, and has managed 31 total in her last two competitions.
USC Upstate (3-7 overall, 0-0 Big South)
- Radford enters the game at 3-7. Last time out, they lost to North Carolina, 89-47.
- Graduate guard Isabella Geraci leads the team in scoring and on the boards with 9.8 points and 7.0 rebounds per game.
- Head coach Jason Williams is in his second year at the helm of the program. In his two seasons, he has posted a 25-14 record.
- Last season, the Spartans posted a 22-8 overall record, falling to UNC Asheville in the Big South quarterfinal.
