NEWBERRY, S.C. - The Queens University of Charlotte cross country teams continued to improve as they raced at the Newberry Invitational on Saturday afternoon. The Royals used the opportunity as one final race before the ASUN Conference Championships next weekend at North Alabama.
"We sent Madi Webster out to get a confidence boost before the ASUN meet and show she is ready to compete, and she did just that and showed she is ready," said Head Coach
Jake Krolick. "The rest of our group is showing continuous progress and are making good strides and are prepared to head into track season."
On the women side, two Royals finished in the top 10.
Madison Webster placed second with a time of 18:50:8 and
Natalya Carter placed seventh in her Queens debut with a time of 19:56:9.
For the men, the Royals stay consistent as they had three runners place in the top 30.
Burch Greene placed 21st with a time of 27:44:4 and
Naim Bell placed 24th with a time of 28:09.
Jiri Brychta placed 29th with a time of 28:30:1.
"Our top 8 women and top 9 men did not race and are focused on prepping for the ASUN championships next week" said Head Coach
Jake Krolick.
The 2022 ASUN Conference Championships will take place on Saturday, October 29th in Huntsville, Alabama at the University of North Alabama.
