CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Queens University of Charlotte head field hockey coach
Brandi Kist announces the addition of
Kealsie Robles to her staff as an assistant coach.
"We are looking forward to welcoming Kealsie to our Queens field hockey family," Kist stated. "She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to assist in the continued development of our goalkeepers and defense. Our staff is looking forward to getting this '21 season underway!"
Robles is currently a goalkeeper on the U.S. Women's National Field Hockey Team which recently made
Charlotte, N.C., and Bessant Field their temporary new home. She won a bronze medal as a 2019 Pan American Games Provisional Athlete, and the team finished ninth in the 2019 and 2020-21 FIH Pro League. Additionally, she was a 2019 FIH Hockey Olympic Qualifier.
This is Robles third season with the U.S. Women's National Team after being named to the team in January of 2019. Prior to that, she was a member of the U.S. Women's National Development in 2017 and 2018, the U.S. U-21 Women's National Team in 2017, and the U.S. U-19 Women's National Team in 2016.
Robles played her collegiate career at Old Dominion University where she started 16 games as a freshman and earned Second Team All-Region honors. During that season, she also earned BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week on two occasions and Rookie of the Week honors. Additionally, the two-time NFHCA National Academic Squad member was named to the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll. In 2016, She was named second team VaSID All-State after totaling 75 saves on the year.
"I'm thankful about the opportunities that come with our team's relocation," Robles commented. "I am excited to join the staff at Queens as the goalkeeper specialist. I'm looking forward to getting involved in the competitive college environment again and to give back as much as I can. "
Robles graduated from ODU with a bachelor's degree in psychology. She also minored in health and wellness.
