CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Queens University of Charlotte head softball coach
Stacey Schramm announces the return of Christine Roser-LeFevers to her staff as associate head coach. Roser-LeFevers rejoins the Royals to work alongside Schramm after most recently serving as head coach of the Mars Hill University Lions.
When Coach Roser left Queens, our program experienced a huge void that could only be filled by her return," Schramm stated. "I am selfishly excited because she makes me a better coach, but I'm even more excited for my student-athletes who are deserving of a coaching staff that has the expertise to develop each player in ways that contribute to the team's overall success.
I also want to thank our former assistant Kaitlyn Cheek for her commitment to our program for the past two years. Dealing with the pandemic has not been an easy task for coaches or players, and MK [Kaitlyn] was instrumental in helping us all get through it. She is a great coach and will always be a member of the Royals family.
Roser-LeFevers recorded a 16-33 record with the Lions working through challenges caused by the pandemic during both of her first two seasons as a head coach. During the 2021 season, Mars Hill had two players named SAC All-Conference.
Prior to joining the Lions, Roser-LeFevers spent four seasons with the Royals assisting Queens in making three consecutive South Atlantic Conference Championship appearances and one NCAA DII Southeast Regional appearance. In 2018, the Royals recorded the most wins in program history (35) and earned their first-ever national ranking. Roser-LeFevers also had a hand in coaching 11 NFCA Academic All-Americans, 12 All-SAC players, three SAC All-Tournament team honorees, and two Academic All-District selections.
"I couldn't be more excited for the opportunity to be back at Queens University of Charlotte," said Roser-LeFevers. "I want to thank Director of Athletics
Cherie Swarthout and Stacey for this amazing opportunity. Queens is a special place with a championship culture, and I cannot wait to get back to work with the softball program. I am looking forward to working with a great group of student-athletes to achieve success on the field, in the classroom, and in the community."
Roser-LeFevers was also the assistant coach at Seminole State College in Orlando, Florida for the 2014-15 season helping the team amass a 51-9 record which ranked second in the state of Florida and fourth in the nation in the last NJCAA regular-season poll of 2015. While in Orlando, Roser-LeFevers also served as an elite instructor at ProSwings, LLC, where she conducted lessons for pitching, hitting, catching, fielding, and speed and agility for age groups ranging from 6 to 21 years old.
As a student-athlete, Roser-LeFevers helped Rollins win the Sunshine State Conference Championship from 2009-2011. She was named 2009 and 2011 Diamond Catcher of the Year, 2008 Freshman of the Year, and First Team All-SCC all four years (2008-11). Roser-LeFevers was also named to the NFCA All-South Region, Daktronics All-South Region, and NFCA All-American First Teams in 2009 and 2011. Additionally, she was a 2011 Daktronics First Team All-American and the Daktronics Southeast Region Player of the Year.
Roser-LeFevers graduated from Rollins in 2011 with a bachelor's degree in psychology. She is currently studying at the University of West Alabama, where she was a graduate assistant from 2012-13, obtaining a master's degree in continuing education-college student development.
What the Student-Athletes Are Saying
"When Coach Roser left the softball program, we lost a part of our foundation. With her return, the softball program will not only return to where it once was before, but it will also elevate to new heights. This is our time; this is our year."
-Gerlea "J" Patton
"Coach Roser's return brings about a combination of knowledge and passion that will propel the program to the next level. We always pride ourselves on sisterhood and Coach Roser was the missing piece to that puzzle. Words cannot express how happy and excited we are to have her back!"
