CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The 19
th-ranked Queens University of Charlotte women's tennis team won its second match in as many days, collecting a 7-0 win over UVA Wise at the Howard Levine Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon.
"This was a good weekend for us," said Head Tennis Coach
Billy Boykin. "We look sharper each week. I am excited to see how much we can improve over the last month of the season."
The Royals won the doubles point following a win by forfeit and a 6-2 win in the second doubles flight from the duo of
Emma Hidalgo/
Grace Sheldrick.
Following a forfeit at No. 6, Katya Khmratsova was 6-0, 6-0 winner at No. 5 to move the Royals within one point of victory.
Caity Klaassen sealed the win with a 6-0, 6-0 triumph at No. 3. Viktroija Veselinova and Graces Forbes both won their respective singles matchups in 10-point super tiebreakers.
The Royals are back on the court on Tuesday when the team travels to Gaffney, S.C. to take on Limestone University in the first match of a four-match road trip.
