HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The No. 20 Queens University of Charlotte women's tennis team remained perfect to open the season with a 7-0 sweep of Coker University on Saturday afternoon in South Atlantic Conference play.
In doubles play, the No. 1 duo of
Sasha Davidzenka/
Yana Fleyer won 6-0 to highlight a perfect opening to the match for Queens.
Singles play saw the Royals win all six matchups as Queens surrendered just eight total points and secured to wins via forfeit.
"We play a littler sharper each time we get a chance to compete," said Head Tennis Coach
Billy Boykin. "Our energy was great today. We will keep working hard and are looking forward to our next competitive opportunity."
Conference play continues next Saturday for the Royals when the team hosts Mars Hill University for a 1 p.m. match at the Howard Levine Tennis Center.
