2020-21 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL SCHEDULE
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Queens University of Charlotte head men's basketball coach Bart Lundy and head women's basketball coach Jen Brown announce the teams' 2020-21 South Atlantic Conference schedule. The stage is set for a 20-game conference slate as the Royals will host 10 matchups on their home floor inside Curry Arena.
Lundy and Brown will lead their respective squads to Lenoir-Rhyne University for the season opener on Saturday, November 21 in Hickory, N.C. Last season, the Bears and Royals split the season series on the women's side, while Queens was 2-1 against LR on the men's side, including a 106-96 win the SAC Championship Quarterfinals.
Queens will host Mars Hill University in its home opener on Saturday, Nov. 2 to conclude the month before December offers a four-game slate, starting with a matchup at Coker University on Wednesday, Dec. 2, in Hartsville, S.C.
Following consecutive home games against Wingate University (Dec. 5) and Anderson University (S.C.) on Wednesday, Dec. 9, the Royals travel to Harrogate, Tenn. for a battle with Lincoln Memorial University on Dec. 12. The men's contest will feature a matchup of the top two seeds in the 2019-20 Southeast Regional that was canceled due to COVID-19.
The Royals kick-off 2021 with home games against Catawba (January 6) and new SAC member Limestone University (Jan. 9).
Five of the next six games come on the road as Queens' lone home contest during the stretch is a faceoff against Tusculum University on Wednesday, Jan. 20 inside Curry Arena. January wraps up with back-to-back road games at Mars Hill (Jan. 23) and Newberry (Jan. 27).
Four of the Royals final seven regular-season games will take place in the Queen City. After a Saturday afternoon affair at Carson-Newman University on February 6, Queens returns home for back-to-back games against Coker (Feb. 10) and UVA Wise (Feb. 13).
The Royals close out the regular season with four games in 10 days, beginning with a trip to Limestone on Feb. 17, followed by consecutive home bouts against Lincoln Memorial (Feb. 20) and Lenoir-Rhyne (Feb. 24). The 2020-21 regular season finale takes place at Wingate on Saturday, Feb. 27.
The annual SAC Pilot Flying J Basketball Championships begin with quarterfinal matchups on Wednesday, March 3 before heading a neutral site in Greenville, S.C. for the semifinals and finals on March 6-7 in Timmons Arena on the campus of Furman University.
Both sides have the option to add up to two non-conference games to their schedule for 2020-21. Non-conference games, attendance regulations and promotional schedules will be announced as they become available.
